Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island Voted Best Canadian Island Destination by Travel and Leisure Magazine – July 2011
Cape Breton Island, part of the Atlantic Canada province of Nova Scotia, has been voted one of the world’s best islands to visit in Travel and Leisure magazine’s 2011 “World’s Best Awards”. The Nova Scotian Island famed for its picturesque coastal roads, friendly people and Celtic traditions including music and dance, is ranked the number one island destination in Canada and continental United States, and number three on the list of the Top Ten Islands Overall.
This is the third time that the Island has been awarded the top honor by the magazine’s readers, who vote on five characteristics: natural attractions, activities and sights, restaurants and food, people, and value. The complete results will appear in the August edition of the magazine.
