Try the New Brunswick Maple Old Fashioned for a delicious new twist

Lockdown cocktail hour has become a regular fixture. With all the classics mastered, try a delicious New Brunswick update on a much-loved favourite: the maple gin old fashioned muddles warm and zesty flavours with the delicate toasty sweetness of maple syrup. While any gin can be used for this, New Brunswick’s own Fils Du Roy gin is the ideal ingredient.

Ingredients

50ml Gin

4 dashes Orange Angostura Orange Bitters

10ml New Brunswick Maple Syrup

2 pieces orange peel zest

A sprig of Rosemary

Combine and add 4 blocks of ice, stir gently to dilute taste

Finish with a sprig of rosemary and squeeze of orange

Immerse yourself in traditional Mi’kmaq culture through the fine art of basket making in in Elsipogtog, New Brunswick. Explore the World’s Highest Tides

Red Rock Adventure hosts tours on the world’s highest tides along the Fundy Trail via Zodiac. Tide riders will explore the record-breaking tides when 160 billion tons of seawater flows in and out of the bay twice daily. Led by a company of professional adventure experience guides, guests will tour the longest stretch of coastal wilderness on the eastern seaboard from the water. The bay is filled with geological formations, wide marine diversity, and rugged landscapes best seen from the seat of a Zodiac. Lucky guests might also spot wildlife including seals, porpoises, and bald eagles. The two-hour excursion costs around £38 per person.
