From Yarmouth to Cape Breton, the trail weaves through stunning landscapes, heritage sites, beaches, farmlands and cities. Step Back in Time to Taste 18th Century Rum in Nova Scotia
For those who prefer old favourites, the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site offers historic rum tastings and a fascinating insight into Nova Scotia’s 18th century rum trade. Parks Canada has partnered with the Authentic Seacoast Company who created a special edition rum, stored in barrels to be aged in Louisbourg’s storehouse. Visitors can also learn how rum is made as part of the Rum Tasting: The Drink That Sugar Made experience. Tickets from £5 per person.

The Inn at Bay Fortune- Celebrity Chef Michael Smith’s newest venture
The Inn at Bay Fortune is nestled on the edge of 40 acres of land with magnificent views of the Fortune River, Fortune Bay and Northumberland Strait. Since Spring of this year, The Inn has come under the culinary direction of celebrity Chef Michael Smith who has used his Maritime influences and stylish flair to re-launch the Inn as one of the world’s leading culinary tourism destinations.
For Chef Michael, coming back to the Inn is a return to his roots having manned the stoves for seven years before bringing International fame to a little known country inn. Chef Michael has also overseen extensive redevelopment of The Inn, including the introduction of a newly built open-fire kitchen consisting of a 22-foot long brick-lined open hearth, rotisserie, grill, smoke house and oven that will be fully fuelled by live fire.

A Taste of St. John’s – New Foodie Tours
