WestJet Launches New Direct Flights from London to Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
The thrice weekly flights will depart London Gatwick and arrive into St. John’s every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the most easterly point of Canada will soon be served by direct flights from London Gatwick, as announced on 15th November by transatlantic carrier, WestJet.
The Canadian airline with routes across Canada, the US and Europe will fly from the London hub into St. John’s, the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador seasonally, from 1st May to 25th October 2024.
Flights will run three times a week (Sunday, Wednesday and Fridays), one-way fares start from $393 (approx. £232) and are available to book online.
New Glamping Experiences
Newfoundland and Labrador has seen an explosion of new, secluded glamping experiences open in the past year across the province, including the following:
- The Getaway at Burdens Point – renovated heritage saltbox homes on a private island in Salvage, accessible only by foot path or boat. Three-night stay from $900 (approx. £530), based on six sharing).

- Humber River Off-Grid, Hampden – glamping tents on the river, with guided tours to go deep into the stunning local area. From $90 per night (approx. £53), based on two sharing.
- Glamping Domes at the Riverfront Chalets, Grand-Falls Windsor – four brand new one-bedroom Phoenix Domes offering 530 square-feet of luxury on the banks of the Exploits River. Each boasts a private hot tub and fire pit, for ultimate outdoor luxury. From $299 per night (approx. £176), based on four sharing.
